The universal cable for indoor and outdoor use
Discover our universally applicable loose tube installation cables for indoor and outdoor use. With this type of cable, the fibre-reinforced cores are encased in a water-repellent gel to protect them from environmental influences. They also feature metal-free rodent protection. The cable ends with pre-assembled connectors are manufactured in a reinforced version to reduce sensitivity to fibre breakage. In addition, the cable ends are covered with a pull-in aid, which also protects the ends during installation. The loop at the end, made of tear-resistant nylon fabric, can be used directly for pulling in. This ensures additional protection during pulling in and transport. For lengths of 100 metres or more, we supply the fibre optic installation cables wrapped on disposable drums, which makes handling much easier.
Each fibre optic universal cable is individually packaged and comes with a measurement report.
We offer various lengths. Customised products are also available on request. Please contact us using the contact form or by email at [email protected].

Outdoor fibre-optic cables: A reliable solution for outdoor networks
An outdoor fibre-optic cable must perform significantly better in everyday use than a conventional indoor cable. It must transmit data securely, even when faced with moisture, temperature fluctuations or mechanical stress. This is precisely why outdoor projects require a robust, well-designed and easy-to-install solution.
At Fiber24, you’ll find outdoor fibre optic cables that have proven their worth in a wide variety of network installations. Whether for building-to-building connections, campus networks, industrial environments or other outdoor applications: it’s important to have a cable that’s not only technically suitable but can also be laid reliably. This is precisely where our pre-terminated loose-tube installation cables come into their own.
Why an outdoor fibre-optic cable must meet specific requirements
Outdoors, cables are exposed to different factors than in protected indoor environments. Moisture, tensile stress, temperature fluctuations or even rodents can impair a cable’s functionality in the long term. Choosing the wrong solution here risks unnecessary outages, time-consuming rectification work and additional costs.
Our outdoor cables are therefore designed to confidently overcome typical everyday challenges. The fibre-reinforced conductors are encased in a water-repellent gel. This helps to reliably protect the sensitive fibres from environmental influences. In addition, the cables feature metal-free rodent protection. This is particularly useful when cables are laid in areas where mechanical risks cannot be ruled out.
For many projects, it is precisely this combination that is crucial: high protection, good workability and a design suited to professional requirements.
An overview of the benefits of our loose-tube installation cables
When purchasing a fibre-optic cable for outdoor use, it is not just data transmission that matters. In practice, handling, installation and protection during laying also play a major role. Our versatile loose-tube installation cables offer a range of benefits in this regard:
- suitable for indoor and outdoor use
- water-repellent gel to protect against environmental influences
- metal-free rodent protection
- pre-assembled connectors for quick installation
- reinforced cable ends to reduce susceptibility to fibre breakage
- additional pulling aid to protect the ends during installation
- tear-resistant loop made of nylon fabric for direct pulling
- secure protection during transport and installation
These features ensure that the cable is not only high-performance but also particularly practical. This is a key consideration, particularly for procurement officers, project managers, electricians and IT specialists, when it comes to efficient and reliable network solutions.
Outdoor fibre-optic cables designed for easy installation
In most projects, it is not only the quality of the cable itself that matters, but also how quickly and safely it can be installed. Our pre-terminated outdoor cables are therefore designed to make installation as straightforward as possible.
The cable ends are manufactured in a reinforced version to reduce susceptibility to fibre breakage. In addition, a sheath with a pulling aid protects the ends during installation. This reduces the risk of damage during pulling and makes handling easier on site or in technical areas.
The loop made of tear-resistant nylon fabric attached to the end is particularly practical. It can be used directly for pulling the cable through, thus offering a functional solution for installation. This saves effort, increases safety during installation and ensures a smoother project workflow.
Applications for which outdoor fibre-optic cables are suitable
An outdoor fibre-optic cable is required when connections need to be established across outdoor areas, between buildings or in more challenging environments. Typical applications include, for example, company premises, industrial sites, public facilities, data centre connections or structured networks covering large areas.
A robust outdoor cable is also a sensible choice for projects where cable routes need to be planned flexibly. A high-quality solution pays off, particularly when reliability and protection are paramount. As it is universally suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, it can efficiently cover a wide range of installation scenarios.
This makes these cables appealing to a wide variety of target groups: from procurement departments and technical project managers to electricians carrying out the work and IT teams.
Singlemode or Multimode: The right solution for your project
As every project has different technical requirements, Fiber24 offers a range of options to suit specific applications. If you are looking for a specific type, you can choose between singlemode outdoor fibre-optic cables and multimode outdoor fibre-optic cables.
Singlemode cables are particularly suitable for longer distances and applications with high demands on range and performance. Multimode cables, on the other hand, are often a good solution for shorter distances within certain network environments. Which variant is the right one depends on your specific needs.

Frequently asked questions
The sheathing of fibre-optic cables used outdoors is specially reinforced and usually coated with a water-repellent gel to ward off moisture and environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations. They also often incorporate metal-free rodent protection to guard against mechanical damage – features that are not strictly necessary in cables used indoors.
Pre-assembled loose-tube installation cables simplify installation thanks to reinforced cable ends, which reduce the risk of fibre breakage. Additional pulling aids and a tear-resistant nylon loop enable safe and time-saving installation on site, which significantly simplifies handling, particularly on building sites and in outdoor areas.
Metal-free rodent protection effectively safeguards fibre-optic cables against damage caused by rodents, without causing electrical interference or corrosion problems. As cables laid outdoors are often exposed to direct mechanical risks, this protection offers a durable and low-maintenance solution for reliable network connections.
Singlemode fiber-optic cables are particularly suitable for long transmission distances where high standards of performance and range are required, such as for connections between buildings or across large company premises. Multimode cables, on the other hand, are ideal for shorter distances within closed networks, for example on campuses or within a building.
When laying cables outdoors, cables with robust protective features should be chosen to withstand moisture, tensile stress and environmental factors. Furthermore, practical features such as reinforced ends, pull-through aids and tear-resistant loops facilitate quick and mechanically secure installation, reduce fibre breaks and minimise the need for repairs later on during operation.
